Settin’ Sails

Settin’ Sails

Uh… well not exactly. Quite rightly, Jet setting. I am actually preparing for a much needed vacation. One that is two years overdue. Where am I going? To the sunny blue skies of Orlando, FL.

This will be the time to get in some serious R & R, and charge my energizer batteries in lue of events on the horizon. Such as baby showers, a wedding and a bridal show (I’ll keep you posted on those events). I’m going to really try and focus on the true intent of this vacation; enjoying time with my family and pure relaxation. If there is such a thing. Also, with that in mind, I plan to travel light. Which means, no computers (can’t check or respond to emails). No business calls (but I will check voicemail). Nothing remotely in the sphere of the industry (wedding shows, books, or magazines). For those of you who know me, my head is always in a book. On the interim, I will take my journal, to jot down ideas. Hey, some things never change.

I will try to get in another post before I leave the office on Saturday. Enjoy your week. Make it a great one! 😀

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

 ****Reflections & Resolutions****

I wish all Good Things and I Pray much Success and Happiness in each and everyone of your Lives.

In this pass year I have been blessed with the opportunity to have met and worked with so many wonderful people and through that, relationships have been cultivated. And with each relationship I have been imparted with enriching and fulfilling friendships. I truly thank each and everyone of you. So much has happened in 2015. Good and Bad. History was made. With each lesson that we’ve learned let us reflect on it and apply it to the benefits of a productive 2016.

I so do look forward to working with my 2016 couples and clients of special events to make their dreams for their day come true. The creativity that I have been blessed with and this stewardship that I have, along with that same selflessness passion, I aim to apply to giving back. Not only to my clients but to the industry as whole.

In the interim, I am excited about the many new business relationships turned friendships. More importantly, the opportunity to enhance and promote their businesses as well as my own. I have great stuff in stored for you guys. You wait and see. I believe that each person, situation, or circumstance happens for a reason. People, places, and opportunities are seeds planted to take root for things you would have never imagined. Good things. Even better, Great Things! So with 2016 I plan to transition, Spiritually, Emotionally, Mentally, Financially, Creatively, and Physically. Mind, Body, and Soul. Furthermore, I plan to bond even more with my family and friends.

So inclusion of my long-winded post, with a new year comes new beginnings. Ultimately change. Not necessarily immediate change, but change nonetheless. Once “Change” is rooted in your mindset, you begin to think outside of the box. So for 2016,set your goals and aim high. Don’t just settle for chasing after your dreams, instead grab hold of, and step into them. Oh, because the possibilities are endless.

Happy New Year!

Grace & Peace be unto you. Always.

One Thing I’ve Learned…

One Thing I’ve Learned…

……Is the invaluableness when one strives for a higher education.

Especially when someone else can benefit from it. In wanting to offer the best to my clients in all aspects of my business, I felt the need to take on additional courses so that I may be able to provide for my clients the absolute best of the best. For the past week or so my head has been in the books (and will be until wedding season officially kicks off for us in May), in addition to reconstructing company packages, as well as my core business structure.
With the expansion of LMEP, we had to without a doubt let out our waist line just a little more. With additional services provided, well you kind of need additional hands. You’ll hear more of that in the coming weeks as we narrow down our internship candidates. Furthermore, within our new location we are able to create and design tablescapes (which I am really excited about). This is very important when meeting current and potential clients; for them to step into the prelude of their wedding day. To see, touch, smell, and experience the force that will connect them to the reality of their dreams. We recently had a photo shoot in the new location. I know your curiosity is piqued, so I’ll leave you with a few photos. Photos are courtesy of Vaughn Freeman of Visual Mystiqye Photos.

On the horizon:

My New Photos. I am sporting a new haircut.
Launch of New Website
Redesign of Blog
LMEP Table Linen & Chair Cover Rentals
New Studio Tablescape
Until then: I’ll leave you with a photo of our March Windowscape.

I look forward to sharing these moments with you.

With Thankfulness – Happy Thanksgiving

Greetings All,

As we get closer to the end of 2016, let us reflect on the many great and not so great things that has happened this year thus far. Let’s not ponder on the what could have been, but what is. For instance, our lives, our health, and our strength. Another day to rise up and spend with our loved ones. Living life as we know it. There are so many with circumstances and situations dire than our own. Let us remember to make a note that when the Grace is being said to be thankful for the little things. To pray for those who are in a greater need than our own to be blessed beyond their imaginations, and that good things are in store for them.

I am truly thankful for my life, my family, and most of all being given the opportunity to share with my readers. Yes, YOU! Thank you for all your support, to those within the US and beyond its borders. Last but not in the least, I have to thank God for the gift he has given me to bless others. With this gift I was able to make new friends and connect with others in the industry beyond my wildest dreams and then some.

So with that being conveyed, let’s be thankful for even the little things. That’s just the prerequisite for us to obtain so much more!

Have a Happy & Safe Thanksgiving!

Lisa

Our New Wedding Planning Space

Our New Space

Saturday was the first day of New Beginnings for us. We began our move into the new LMEP location. I had already envisioned how I wanted it to look and what key pieces would be essential for the utilization of the space long beforehand. It was important to me to create an inviting yet intimate setting for my couples. Especially when meeting my Brides and catering to their dreams and needs for their special day.

Throughout the salon I incorporated a few of the essentials such as a wedding dress, floral arrangements, favors, and different kinds of stationery for her to see and touch. So that she would be able to be get a sense of what her day would be like.

Although settled, I’m not done yet. I have so much more to do. It really has yet to sink in, and I’m sure the more that I’m there, I will become overwhelmed with emotion and the joy that comes with the success of this growth in my business. Yes. Yes and yes. I’m thankful and honored to be in a place to assist others with their very special day and events. More importantly, I would like to thank those who assisted with the move, the clean up, and the set up. I really appreciate all of your prayers, help and support. Until….

Grace & Peace,
Lisa

Wednesday Wisdom

Wednesday Wisdom

“Remember, in all that we do, it is always easier to maintain a good reputation
than to rebuild one.”

Generally what we say and do affect all those who we come in contact with and at a much larger scope beyond that. It’s so important to do a self inventory of our values and what is truly the motivation behind our actions (Verbal and non-verbal) on a daily basis. This is the prerequisite that will to guide us towards the insight on how we treat others morally and ethically.
In the interim, this will help us to remain true, and project an upright character before all to see. This will create a revolving door of positivity which will be beneficial in every area of our lives.

Happy Living!

June Bug? Happy June Everyone!!!

June Bug? Happy June Everyone!!!

Greetings all!

Happy June Everyone.

Tis’ the season to be busy. My apologies for the late entry. The wedding season has arrived and I am hard at work planning, as well as bringing additional staff on board. The other day I was contacted by a high school to engage one of their students in an internship. She has an interest in wedding and event planning and already has some experience in hospitality. What really impressed me was her resume and cover letter, and she’s only sixteen! WOW. I’ll let you know how that works out. I’ll be back next week to post more tips and advice on planning the wedding or event of your dreams. Until then….stay tuned.

Letisha & Mark

Letisha & Mark

Letisha contacted me in August to assist her with planning her Oct 23, 2015 nuptials. After e-mailing each other, we scheduled her comp consult. We met and hit it off. When I finally met Mark, who is a Scorpio by-the-way (he loves all things Scorpio – remember that)and he’s hilarious too! He keeps us in stitches all the time.

Furthermore, I was impressed with the amount of time and effort that Letisha had already put into the planning process. Not to mention, she has invigorating ideas and great taste. (Until this day I tell her she should really consider a career as a wedding planner. She’s thinking about it).

Letisha chose Cornflower Blue, Gold, & Ivory for her Dreamscape.
Theme: Love is Forever
Details: Crystal Embellishments, Scrolls, Candlelight, Roses and Love. (The other details are under wraps. Shhhhh – It’s a surprise!)

Needless to say, I am truly honored to assist this amazing and adorable couple in their plans for their special day! Stay tuned for more blog posts on Letisha & Mark’s as their day draws closer.

Happy Planning!

Meet Lisa Michelle Event Planner

Meet Lisa

Hi there,

My name is Lisa and I am the Owner and Lead Consultant of Lisa Michelle Event Planner, an event planning firm based in New York. My inspirations are: GOD, my Lil’ guy, Ryan, and a true and complete love for all things weddings! In addition, I really love Science Fiction Movies, and I’m big on Superheros. Especially if they can FLY.

Onward then: My journey on this exciting yet tremendous path to event planning was not that glamorous to begin with, but hard and one of absolute dedication. I faintly recall as a little girl visiting my grandmother each summer in Virgina, and having mud parties (Yes you’ve read correctly, Mud Parties)with the little girl who lived across the street. It turned into this tradition and with each year it became grander and grander. Everything looked so pretty to us at least almost good enough to eat, but we didn’t dare! As I got older, I assisted with fundraisers for my church, planned baby showers, birthday parties, and corporate events such as job fairs and holiday parties. Even in the mist of it all, in the summer of 2005, I planned my own wedding. Like the old adage; each one, teach one. And so it began….
