On the 12th Day of Christmas…

On the 12th Day of Christmas…

Happy December All!

I hope that everyone had a terrific Thanksgiving Holiday and that all was stuffed with nothing but love, happiness, and good food. As we settle into this holiday season, let us reflect on the many good things that has happen this year and prayerfully good of what is to come. Gift giving is great, but let us not forget within our hearts the true meaning of Christmas; Helping others less fortunate than ourselves.

On that note, your help is greatly needed;

A colleague of mine, Michael Ungaro of http://www.thegallerybx.com/ in conjunction with the 40Th Pct. and Community Board are collecting toys and baby garments for their annual drive. All items will be donated to a homeless shelter with 21 families. The ages range from 3 months to 18 yrs old. Boys and Girls.

The Deadline is by December 13, 2015.

If you are a native New Yorker and live in the areas of any of the Drop Off zones listed below, I encourage you to do so. And for those of you who live outside of New York mail it in if you can. I can’t begin to tell you how much of a difference it makes to the parents who struggle so hard to give their children the best. and most of all the receiver of the gift, the child.

The price range of $10.00 to $15.00 USD per gift, falls short of the value that child will place on that gift.

Here are the Drop Offs:

The Gallery Lounge
26 Bruckner Blvd.
Bronx, New York 10454

40Th Pct.
257 Alexander Avenue
Bronx, New York 10454

Metro Optics Eyewear
1332 Metropolitan Avenue
Bronx, New York 10462

Metro Optics Eyewear
25 Westchester Sq.
Bronx, New York 10461

For further information feel free to contact Gloria Cruz 718-924-1918 or Alex Diaz at 917-370-9090.

After all Christmas comes once a year, but the ability to make someones circumstance lighter and brighter can happen everyday and that is the greatest gift of all.

With Sincere Thanks.

Moments Like These …

Moments Like These …

I received a text message Wednesday evening from my very dear and wonderful friend since the dawning of age, with the news that she was on her way to the hospital. Her contractions were 10 minutes apart. I had to say, I was a little disappointed for 2 reasons:

1. I was not going to be able go to the hospital as I did for baby #1. They don’t allow children to enter into certain areas. Of course, I am mother to a very special and loverable 7 year old boy, who is jointed at my hip. No baby sitter and it was school night.

2. I lost the pot. We took a poll at her Baby Shower held nearly two weeks ago, of each guest and when they thought she would actually deliver. Funny thing. Her due date was the 22. I said she was going to deliver on the 24Th (which so happens to be my sons birthdate). Didn’t happen. No way. That baby wanted OUT!!

I am pleased to announce the arrival of:

Jaiden Alexander Thomas

Born: Thursday, October 16, 2014 @ 1:05 AM

Weighing in @ 7 pounds 7 ounces (Perfect!)

When I spoke to Monique the very next day, she sound exhausted and relieved that she finally had her body back. She said that she had just finished feeding Jaiden but that he was up and checking things out a mile a minute. She wanted him to go to sleep.

For those of you who have been asking if I planned events other than weddings. Yes, I do! (No pun intended there) I had the absolute honor of planning Baby Shower #2, with the help of the family. In some of the photos you will see things like a Baby Book ( Guest Book, Dream Book, or Wish Book), chocolate lollipops, and the Invitation for the baby shower. All which were created by Dreams & Keepsakes. Also the cake, with the family photo on it was a very endearing touch(way to go Marion). Overall we had a blast!

Although weddings are our passion & speciality, we ultimately have a passion for planning all events. Our motto: “Where Planning is Everything”

Congratulations to James, Monique, and James Jr.

Welcome Baby Jaiden Alexander!

Our first wedding of the season was one of homespun love and intimacy. This was actually my first home wedding and I had a great time assisting Renee with all the details for her special day with Leroy. It was truly a learning experience and one that I would do again and again. Here is a preview of their very special day.

Congratulations Guys!

For me there is usually a feeling on sentiment whenever the clergy pronounces the couple husband and wife. As always I am faced with a renewed love for my career and wish that moments like these can last forever. Oh the joy!

Let Your Voice Be Heard

Let Your Voice Be Heard

It’s that time again all where we all can have a chance at choosing the next person that will sit in the chair in the Oval Office, it we choose to do so.

This is a hard time for us right now with all that is going on there seems as if there is no end to rise and fall of the economy. One thing that should remain the same is our faith that things will get better, in spite of. Businesses and households across the entire globe are affected. There is none that has gone unscathed. On some level or another we have all felt the effects of our countries’ economical status.

When the new Commander in Chief takes his position in office we may not see the effects of change right away, but it will come eventually. No matter who your choice of candidate is, utilize your right to make a difference in this historical election. If you are having some difficulty with choice because of the many challenging variables, take it from an indifferent approach. Meaning, let the deciding factor be based on the choices you stand for and what each candidate represents.Does a particular Candidate campaign line up with your views, or not. Weigh it in. When all else fails, pray.

I can’t express the gravity of this election and what it will mean for our economy, our people, and our nation as a whole. So utilize your right to vote in this presidential election and let your voice be heard.

Monday Memoirs..

My Dear Beloved,

Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit the ceremony venue of one of my 2016 couples. This church based in Harlem, NY is magnificent inside as well as outside. The beauty, unreal. As I stood standing in front of the pulpit to snap this photo, I couldn’t help but feel the deity of the Godhead. I wanted to kneel and give honor. With it’s marble posts, head, stairs, and gold double doors, I couldn’t help but to imagine the Kingdom that awaited beyond them. Standing about two stories high it did not overpower, but only added to the majesty of edifice, which included a second and third mezzanine.

In “shopping” around for that perfect place to have your ceremony and reception consider choosing a place that has meaning to you. You know like finding that perfect pair of shoes. It will only add to the joy and magic of your day. If you don’t have that option because you don’t have one or it’s not available to you, you should choose a place where you both feel a sense of connection.

Needless to say, in all of these, the magic of your day will not flow if those who are charged to the place are not connected. In my experience as a wedding professional I’ve come across some really great venues and vendors, but the customer relations were out to snacks. If you are given headache from jump and the aspirin that you do take creates an even bigger headache, which then turns into a migraine, it’s will not be worth it in the long run. That’s why it is so essential to ask for references, read reviews, and get feedback from former clients. As a wedding planner, it is my responsibility to test the waters by putting myself in my clients’ shoes. If I am treated in any way that’s makes me feel compromised or uncomfortable, there’s no way that I would allow my clients to be treated in that same manner. Equally or worse.

So no matter how beautiful the venue, make sure you meet and greet the folks who work there. Make sure the beauty runs below the surface in all respects. Key point: It’s You Day. Your Dreams. Your Peace of Mind. Not just on the day of, but the months, weeks, and days leading up to it.

Endearingly,

Letisha & Mark (Part 2)

Letisha & Mark (Part 2)

Here’s another update on this Fab Couple. For the first set of Letisha & Marks’ engagement photos, they posed for Vaughn Freeman of Visual Mystique Studios. The day held for overcast skies and was crisp, but the love between these two kept it warm, toasty, and the clouds at bay. Mark had injured his ring finger (yes – oh my!) very badly a few days before in a construction mishap. As always, he kept us in stitches. What a trooper. We had a blast!

I have posted a few photos for your viewing:

Vaughn captured a lot of great shots. Too many of which that could be published here. But some of Leti’s favorites are seen here.

This one is my favorite too!

Congrats Guys!
